Nissan’s global sales have decreased 1.8% year-over-year and Nissan’s global production in November also decreased to 434,202 units. Regardless of the decrease in production, Nissan North America Senior Vice President, Fred Diaz, said: “Through November, Nissan has set an all-time yearly sales record in 2014.” Nissan plans to expand production at its Mississippi plant by improving the efficiency of auto part arrivals to the assembly line; because the Canton plant is distant from the auto industry, Nissan plans to have its most critical suppliers close by to avoid disruption and improve the overall efficiency.
