At the WD-40 SuperSprint event in Philip Island, Australia, this past weekend, three Nissan Altima models finished in the top 10 finalists. Nissan driver, Todd Kelly finished in fifth place, Rick finished in sixth place and James Moffat came in eighth place. The fourth Nissan race car, #23 and its driver, Michael Caruso spent a big part of the race in the top five, but clutch issues midway through the race caused the wheels to spin during a tire change. This mechanical issue held Caruso back, and the #23 Altima crossed the checkered flag in 22nd place. In a post-race interview, Michael Caruso, said: “The car is obviously very quick but unfortunately suffered a clutch problem which ultimately ended the great result we were heading towards. Everyone is disappointed, but hopefully they can find out what exactly the problem was and we can rectify it for Sydney in a couple of weeks.”
