The Japanese automaker is expected to deliver
four new sports cars within the next couple of years. In fact, Nissan is
expected to create a family of sports cars all priced under $30,000. “I see an
ecosystem of four sports cars that essentially define and cover the segment”
said Andy Palmer. Recently, Nissan has been striving to attract to younger
buyers and hopes to attain the attention of a first time buyer; with that in
mind, Nissan has come up with a less expensive strategy to attain their desired
market’s interest. Palmer added, “In my mind, there’s a real ecospace for
sports cars – you’ve got the GT-R as the fast and the furious sports car,
you’ve got the next generation of the Z which is very classical, you’ve got the
IDx which is very much aimed at being, the bad boy that you can afford and have
fun in.”
