In a recent Nissan announcement, the automaker revealed that the production of the new Maxima model is targeted to revive struggling sales of its flagship sedan. Nissan executives revealed that the new model will feature an aggressive exterior and interior design that will offer better, sportier handling. Under the hood, the new Maxima will deliver 300 horsepower and is capable of averaging 30 miles per gallon. Pierre Loing, the vice president for product strategy and planning for Nissan North America, said: “The segment is very volatile, and when you bring a very strong product it grows because those cars manage to catch customers from other segments… And for us, there is some cross-shopping on entry luxury.
