Everyone in the automotive industry has slowed their production in October for the third straight month, slowing the North American’s overall manufacturing output. Nissan’s Smyrna plant, on the other hand, has no plans of slowing down. Justin Saia, Corporate Communications Manager, Nissan North America, said: “The Smyrna plant is actually the largest producing automotive plant in North America through the first 10 months of the calendar year, with production up nearly 14% year-over-year.” Auto production fell 1.2% in October, 1.9% in September and 7.2% in August; however, despite the downfall in production, auto sales have remained strong in October.
