While it is just a prototype for now, this new shielded armrest compartment will help drivers avoid checking their phones through a “digital detox.” This small box attaches to the driver’s armrest and blocks the phone inside from receiving any WiFi, Bluetooth or phone signals. This will remove the temptation to constantly be checking for new notifications or text messages, and it still lets drivers use many of the media functions of their device.
